Powerful, Modular, Secure
The DOTSER Content Management System is built using MYSQL databases and the PHP programming language.
To coincide with the release of PHP 5, the DOTSER CMS was also upgraded & enhanced to allow our code to become more robust, faster, more secure and easier to implement code changes. It is now built on the CodeIgnitor PHP framework and primarily utilises the JQuery javascript library as well as AJAX where necessary, all in tandem with the MySql database engine.
We are constantly developing and improving the DOTSER CMS and since 2008 we have been utilising subversion control to vastly improve how our code is managed. Our subversion control system provides our team with a full and complete history of changes made to the files and directories that make up the DOTSER CMS.
All our development and testing is carried out in our in-house server and once we have successfully created and tested a revision of our software, we tag a release of the DOTSER CMS and publish this to our dedicated server in a datacentre in West Dublin.
DOTSER CMS Technical Overview
• Web-based admin area – Users log in to the website and any changes can be made by simply locating the page you want to update.
• A browser-based interface that looks like Microsoft Word. If you can edit a page in Microsoft Word, you can edit your own website using the DOTSER CMS. No knowledge of web design, HTML, or FTP required.
